Start of regularity- and no Activia needed!

  • Sep. 29th, 2008 at 4:21 PM

Aside from the shit jokes, I'm entirely serious. I'm planning to update this regularly, in that I feel the need to share my thoughts in this monumental and troubling (should I say monumentally troubling?) time in our nation's history. No, not history.

It's present and future. The past had it right.

This isn't to say that I will be focussing only on national issues, like the election and the flailing economy. Rather, I'd like it to be a mix of both my own personal thoughts and feelings from my own life (boyfriend, school, etc.) as well as random tidbits of information that I find while perusing PerezHilton.com and Yahoo! News while avoiding my homework.

I'm ever so studious. Really.

Now, I am writing this assuming that there'll be some crazy person out there who'd actually keep themselves updated on all of my crazy, psycho ramblings and rather opinionated rants that may have no basis in act whatsoever. That's okay. This is mainly a catharsis for me, since I AM the one who's updating and writing this, and taking time out of my day to write in a blog rather than maintain a high GPA or nap. That being said, I may get really, really, really bored with this is a week. If so, not my fault. :P

And so, to herald the start of this blog, I am going to discuss a song I am thoroughly OBSESSED with at the moment: "Light On" by David Cook, the first single off of his unnamed album that's dropping on November 18th.

It is, quite honestly, a great song, despite what the fucktards at VoteForTheWorst.com feel the need to express. It's a power ballad, with a bit of a throwback feel to the power ballads of the 80s. It definitely keeps him with his wheelhouse of pop-rock, especially since it was produced by the same man who produces songs for Kid Rock and Green Day. I am SO excited for this album, especially if its just as high-quality as this single. The melody is gorgeous, his voice is gorgeous, and the lyrics..

I adore the lyrics, and the listener can definitely tell that he means what he is saying- that's the trained actor in him, I suppose!

If you would like to listen, go to http://www.popeater.com/music/article/exclusive-david-cook-turns-the-light-on/185647 or davidcookofficial.com . I HIGHLY recommend it! :)

That's all for now, I suppose. I'm sure I'l be back later tonight.
